About the Item

Patty deGrandpre’s “Outside In” is an 6.25 x 12.5 inch unique abstract inkjet print represented on 11 x 15.75 inch Awagami Bamboo paper. The mirror image of this double exposed photograph of a tree and grasses becomes a landscape with two distinct sides. The deep yellow green sky and rich sepia grasses are superimposed over a subtle reflection of a light source on the left side. In contrast, on the right side, delicate light blue scenery becomes the setting for a black lawn chair and gives a playful graphic pop to this exquisite print. Patty deGrandpre’s contemporary works have a powerful effect as there are multiple directions the eyes of a viewer can be taken, whether it’s right vs. left or top vs. bottom. Each unique image is printed only once and is signed and dated under the bottom right corner of the image. This print is mounted on 1/4 inch 16 x 20 inch white foam core and will ship in a protective sleeve ready for the frame of your choice. This contemporary landscape would make a striking addition to any modern collection. Patty deGrandpre is a New Mexico based artist. She has participated in many exhibitions both on local and national levels. She has been featured in a number of periodicals and has received multiple awards for both fine art and printmaking. Patty DeGrandpre is represented by Fountain Street Gallery based in Boston, MA.

Contemporary pastel colorful landscape trees grass forest scene signed
By Peggy Leonard
Located in Milwaukee, WI
"Bandelier #1" is an original pastel drawing signed by the artist Peggy Leonard in the lower left. It depicts a colorful array of light and shadow in a grassy wooded area. 12 1/2" x 9" art 25 1/2" x 21 1/2" frame Peggy Leonard received her BFA in painting and drawing and an associate’s degree in nursing from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. She is both a registered nurse, and accomplished artist, residing in Milwaukee, WI. From the artist: “These paintings are my prayers,” muses Leonard, reflecting on her driving need to express herself through her art. “We are made of the stuff that requires us to respond with our hearts and hands. Often, it requires terrible sacrifice and suffering, something not everyone can understand. But it is done with reverence of life, not irreverence.” Leonard’s pastels and oil paintings capture her reverence of life and reflect her own life’s journey, including earlier forays into the wilderness. Her venture into art began in early childhood, as childless neighbors nurtured her natural ability to draw; concurrently, Leonard’s parents instilled a respect for academic excellence and the higher order of nurturing others. As a young nurse, Leonard “heard and saw poignant messages to travel while one was young and free…while one had one’s health.” Consequently, she took to the open road and public lands, camping across America for months at a time. During these years, her “celebration of the natural splendor of this country” helped shape her sense of artistic expression. She was moved by such sights as the sunset on St. Mary’s Lake...

Adirondack Chair Summer Scene by Renee Ritter
By Renee Ritter
Located in New York, NY
Renee Gaylin Ritter (American, b. 1935) Remembering a Summer Past, c. 1990s-2000s Multimedia 16 x 12 in. Framed: 17 x 13 x 1 in. Signed lower right Bio from Renee Ritter's website: I'm a New Yorker, born and bred. I was raised with noise and rush and life all around me. My world was vivid technicolor, and no one ran faster than I did. I met and married the man of my dreams, and had the joys and exasperations of raising a family. And all of these events would have been the colors of my canvas if not for the happy opportunity of being able to spend some years in Japan. Japan is the perfect place to plunk down a New Yorker. While it races along on one level, there is this other part of Japan that forces you to hit the mental brakes until the images racing by slow down enough to actually be seen! Eastern thought is a well from which to draw the pure water that clears the mind and strengthens the soul. I've had the unbelievable pleasure of turning visions into realities, and of having those pieces of me scattered around the world. I'm thrilled that they've found so much acceptance in exhibitions, and I'm humbled at the thought that they hang on the walls of museums. But I have to say that I am most pleased when they speak so loudly to another soul that that person has to bring me home to continue our conversation for years to come. For the last 18 years, I've been a teacher, too. I have all the joys of being able to step back from what I do, and think through the principles I've recognized and the pathways I've wandered. And then to offer those insights to others to help them bring out their own mental images for the rest of us to share.
