This artwork titled "Carnival 2" c.2000, is an original woodcut on thick Wove paper by noted American artist Ruth Leaf, 1923-2015. It is hand signed, titled and numbered 20/20 in pencil by the artist. The image size is 14.15 x 14 inches, sheet size is 20.75 x 20.15 inches. It is in excellent condition, has never been framed.
About the artist:
Ruth Leaf is an American artist best known for her prints, and the author of Etching, Engraving and Other Intaglio Printmaking Techniques (Watson-Guptill). Her work also includes woodcuts, solar prints, monoprints, and mixed media. Born in New York City, she studied at the New School for Social Research, Art Student’s League and Brooklyn College, and at Atelier 17 with the groundbreaking printmaker Stanley William Hayter. She exhibited her work throughout the United States and abroad, and has work in many collections, including the Library of Congress, the U.S. Information Agency, the Butler Institute of American Art, and numerous university museums. Leaf has been a member of the Society of American Graphic Artists, the American Color Print Society and regional printmaking groups. Ruth Leaf passed away in April of 2015. Ruth Leaf
Ruth Leaf was an American artist and a pioneer in the discipline of printmaking. While also fluent in the methods of linoleum, monotype, collagraph and collage, she is most known for her viscosity etchings and woodcuts. She authored the book, Etching, Engraving and Other Intaglio Printmaking Techniques (Watson-Guptill Publications) in 1976 while teaching at her namesake studio in Long Island and it remains the textbook used today in many schools. She was born in New York City in 1923, she studied at the New School for Social Research, Art Students League and Brooklyn College and at Atelier 17 with the groundbreaking printmaker Stanley William Hayter. She exhibited her work throughout the United States and abroad and has work in many collections, including the Library of Congress, the U.S. Information Agency, the Butler Institute of American Art and numerous university museums. Leaf has been a member of the Society of American Graphic Artists, the American Color Print Society and regional printmaking groups.

About the Artist
Patrick O'Boyle primarily paints in a studio, rarely using reference material other than his own thoughts and dreams. He always paints in a series of five - at the end of the fifth painting he revisits and reworks all of them until he feels they're complete. Using extra-long handles on his brushes, Patrick paints at a distance from the canvas so he can see the works evolve as a whole from the one color he starts with to the vibrant array at the end.

As a visual artist David has been painting and sculpting most of his life. He is also a Julliard trained violinist. David combines his love of music to create a bond between his two passions.
His paintings and prints have been featured in many publications such as the New York Times and Art in America. 25 of his paintings are featured in the book “Beyond Faith.” David has had many one man show and group shows in Chelsea, Soho and in Westchester. His paintings of 9/11 “Fallen Angels” was acquired by The George Bush presidential Library. His painting has benefited The Julliard School, the American Cancer Society, The National Scholastic Chess Foundation and the Westchester Philharmonic.
