This is a hand painted large Limited Edition, truly brings impact to your space ,wowing the visitors and delight your daily life with its scale and hand painted detail. ( 90% of the image is hand painted by artist, shizico yi)
only 5 of the edition were made, it is offered as an alternative to this original piece, highly collectible.
About the Painting
The painting captures two major spring trees in the artist’s garden, painted plein-air in the garden for three days, later on, Shizico Yi added the important locations of London that are dear to her memories; in this painting St Paul’s Cathedral could be viewed from Ludgate Hill.
The language of two trees: Cherry Prunus and Forsythia (was planted in 2015 by Shizico in memory of her grandmother.) Both trees bloom at the same time in early Spring when the weather is still chill like winter, the sight of these colourful blooms wakes up the senses and brings hope after a long cold winter.
This painting is a part of Spring Exhibition: Spring Cats and the Sonny Factory 2023
- Large Limited Edition : 120 x 80 CM ( including 2.5 cm framing allowance at 4 sides , image size: 115 x75 cm)
It is giclée printed on Museum fine art paper then hand painted on 90% of the painting, signed at the front, signed and numbered at the back by Shizico Yi.
- Limited Edition of Five only. This is the 3rd of the five , #3 of 5
-it’s a very large edition, it will be packed in a heavy duty tube for shipping, recommend to frame with your local framer.

About the artists:
Shizico Yi is available with our studio GSY Gallery.
Dr. Shizico Yi is a London based artist, working on installations, films and paintings; the documentary nature of her work often concerns the loss, repetition, the everyday subject and memories. With a design and film background, Yi combines her interests making installation projects which relate to artist's personal life in relation to the society and human condition at large.
Shizico Yi holds a PhD in Fine Art awarded by UEL, UK and a Master in Fine Art with a BA in Womenswear from UAL, London. She is also the winner of Women Film Makers: Best Shorts Competition 2013, Los Angeles, USA.

Shizico Yi's work aims to explore artistic obsession through repetitive documentation of the domestic and the everyday.
