About the Item
ABOUT THIS PIECE: This image belongs to the Lola-inspired Movement series that won 1st place in the 2009 American Photographic Artists awards.
The idea was to shoot fragrances without actually shooting them as they are packaged for sale. This led the artist to design a series of images that represent the intangible qualities of perfume. The artist attempted to capture the product without actually photographing it, but rather to express the ideas and emotions that combined to create it. The intangible qualities that are the essence of any physical product are reinterpreted and expressed in this series of images.
ABOUT THIS ARTIST: Yee Wong is an international contemporary American-Asian artist. She works in fine arts media, such as digital, graphic design, 2-D, and 3-D. Her work often captures the unusual nature of objects used in daily life, and through that she expresses her emotions.
Wong has worked and lived in New York for decades. She now moves between New York and Hong Kong. Wong's work has received the American Photographic Artists Awards.
PACKAGING: 30x40" and 40x60" prints are shipped in a special fortified tube to guard against bending or damage. Framed 30x40" prints are shipped via FedEx in a bespoke cardboard box with a fitted interior armature for the frame. We do not frame the extra large, 40x60" print sizes because they are too large to ship without risking damage.
INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING: We ship unframed prints internationally via DHL. The international shipping cost does not include the tax & duties, which will be the responsibility of the customer. Unfortunately, because of the high shipping cost we do not ship framed prints internationally at this time.

Blue Splash
By Dan Christensen
Located in Toronto, Ontario
Dan Christensen (1942-2007) is widely recognized as one of America’s foremost color abstractionists. Over the course of forty years as an artist, Christensen was devoted to exploring and expanding the constantly shifting trends of 20th century abstraction.
Christensen established his reputation at the end of the 1960s, as began using spray guns to create colorful stacks, loops, and lines in his artworks. This body of work was considered by the legendary art critic Clement Greenberg among the most original abstract paintings of the decade.
Unlike many of his contemporaries who dedicated their practice to a signature style, Christensen was unrelentingly curious and allowed his dynamic version of abstraction to evolve as he tried new techniques and aesthetics.
During the 1980's and 1990's in particular, Christensen focused on experimenting with different forms of washing, spraying, and layering colours over top of each other. The works from Christensen's late period combine the gestural drama of Abstract Expressionism with the stained surface look popularized by the color field artists.
The aesthetic complexity he achieved with these combined techniques are perfectly demonstrated in this later untitled work (aka "Blue...
