Archival linen backed in very fine condition ready to frame. Artist: Alonso Astarloa. Printer: Lit. del Norte, S.L. – Burlada – Pamplona.
This bright and vibrant vintage Spanish poster for the 1962 “Running of the Bulls” in Pamplona, Spain is a fun and colorful image. Contemporary design with one of the runners almost being speared by one of the bulls. The city’s Coat of Arms is displayed in the upper left corner. Colorful flags focus your attention at the top with a bar of red, orange, and yellows crawling down the off-center right side of the vintage poster.
The city is famous worldwide for the running of the bulls during the San Fermín festival, which is held annually from July 6 to July 14. This festival was brought to literary renown with the 1926 publication of Ernest Hemingway's novel The Sun Also Rises.
