About Artist:
Priding himself on being as much of a craftsman as an artist, AJ creates concert art or “gig prints” using the medium of reduction block printing, also known as “Suicide Prints”. In an industry where digital design is considered best practice, his hand carved linoleum block prints have a visual quality which instantly set his work apart from his colleagues. What many would consider posters, AJ's always treated as fine art, bringing materials and techniques traditionally reserved for a gallery setting into the concert arena.
His work is heavily influenced by nature, developed through a deep love of life drawing and the figure. The graphic elements of his work are derived from vintage sign painters of the early 1900’s with a touch of 60’s pin striping. His intention is to engage the viewer both by creating a narrative in the subject matter and also through the use of dynamic compositions. Commissions will often include specific references based around the band, city or venue, further connecting with the viewer.
It is the blending of these traditional techniques with AJ's love of live music which has made him one of today’s most prominent figures in the rock art industry.

Parasite:
“There’s a lot to unpack in Bong Joon Ho's PARASITE. It asks many questions and doesn’t give us comforting answers. For the poster, I wanted to capture that sense of discomfort and unease. A seemingly picture-perfect moment between the happily rich Parks completely oblivious to what’s unfolding around them, and the Kim family relegated to the shadows struggling with their own complex feelings toward such wealth and privilege. It’s a timely film, groundbreaking for a handful of reasons, and difficult to define. My hope is the poster art is just as mesmerizing and ambiguous as the film itself.” - Rory Kurtz...
