Barbara Rosiak
Barbara Rosiak is a Polish painter and graphic designer, born in 1955 in Łódź. From 1974 to 1979, she studied at the National Superior School of Fine Arts at the Faculty of Painting and Graphic Design of Łódź. Rosiak counted among her teachers, Leszek Rózga (Graphic design) and Stanisława Fijałkowskiego (painting). Rosiak graduated with honors in rotogravure, she then started an artistic career. She works a lot with metal. The etchings that she does are colorful and refer to classical techniques of the Renaissance, Baroque and New Art. The subjects approached by Rosiak revolve around landscapes. Whether urban or rural, Rosiak does not hesitate to approach them with power, through a work focused on the color. She is indeed fascinated by engraving with color, which she usually associates to the application of a varnish called Aquatint. A versatile artist, Rosiak also does paintings with watercolors and paint, drawings and ex-libriīs where her obsession for colors is reflected once again. She has participated in more than 90 group exhibitions. We can admire his pieces at the National Museum of Szczecin, at the Museum of Gdańsk-oliwa, at the National Museum of Toru, at the Stadt Museum in Sint-Niklaas, as well as in the Public Library of Nancy and the Boston Public Library. Rosiak has also done numerous solo exhibitions in Europe, Asia and in the United States.
