Cleon Peterson
World on Fire Large Red Screenprint Cleon Peterson

2021

About the Item

Get ready for a fiery addition to your art collection with Cleon Peterson’s "World on Fire" large edition red colorway print. Limited to just 50 editions, this hand-pulled, large format screenprint is printed on 290gsm Coventry Rag paper with deckled edges, making it a true work of art. Cleon Peterson is an American artist who has made a name for himself with his striking, dystopian scenes that explore themes of violence, power, and corruption. With a style reminiscent of classical Greek pottery and Renaissance art, Peterson's work is both timeless and contemporary, bridging the gap between ancient history and the modern world. Influenced by artists such as Goya, Picasso, and Francis Bacon, Peterson's work is both beautiful and unsettling, forcing the viewer to confront uncomfortable truths about the human condition. His art has been exhibited in galleries and museums around the world, and his murals can be seen on the streets of cities like Los Angeles and New York. "World on Fire" is a perfect example of Peterson's ability to create provocative, thought-provoking art. In this print, we see a chaotic scene of violence, with figures engaged in various acts of brutality against each other. The setting is ambiguous, with no clear indication of where or why these events are taking place. Instead, we are left with a sense of unease, as if we are witnessing something that we shouldn't be. Peterson's work often explores the darker side of human nature, and "World on Fire" is no exception. It is a powerful commentary on the state of the world today, with its themes of corruption, power struggles, and the breakdown of morality. But despite its grim subject matter, the print is undeniably beautiful, with its bold use of color and dynamic composition. This is an art piece that will demand attention and start conversations. As one of just 50 editions, "World on Fire" is a rare and valuable addition to any collection, and a testament to the talent and vision of Cleon Peterson. Don't miss your chance to own a piece of art history.

Hope Wall, Silkscreen signed Proof No. IV of IV, scarce Robert Indiana print
By Robert Indiana
Located in New York, NY
ROBERT INDIANA Hope Wall, 2010 Silkscreen on wove paper 24 × 25 inches Edition IV/IV (aside from the regular edition of 33) Hand signed, numbered IV/IV and dated on lower front Unframed Accompanied by Certificate of Guarantee issued by Alpha 137 Gallery Robert Indiana created Hope Wall, or Wall of Hope in support of future president Barack Obama in 2008, and the print was published in 2010. This is an extremely rare Artist's Proof - one of only four in the world. It is pencil signed, dated and numbered IV of IV on the recto. The regular edition is only 33. Extremely scarce. This print has appeared on the market fewer than a handful of times over the past decade. “I’d like to cover the world with hope,” said Robert Indiana, the artist whose iconic “LOVE” series became a global symbol of unity during the turmoil of the 1960s. In 2008, Indiana felt the world was ready for a new message, and designed “HOPE” for Barack Obama’s presidential campaign. “I wanted to help name and empower the next generation and I felt that HOPE encompassed the needs of our time,” he said. With its forward-leaning O, “HOPE” symbolizes perseverance, and pushing ahead toward a brighter future. To coincide with the artist’s 86th birthday, the first annual “International Hope Day” launched on September 13, 2014 and included the public display of Indiana’s “HOPE” sculptures...
