About the Item
Paturage. Clair de lune is a beautiful etching realized by Constant Troyon in 19th century.
In Good condition. Worn paper and some stains on the back. on the lower margin the title of the artwork. On the right-lower margin “Ben Damman sculp.”, and in left-lower “Troyon pinx”. The sheet is mounted on a cardboard passepartout (34 x 49 cm).
Constant Troyon (1810 -1865) was a French painter of the Barbizon school. In the early part of his career he painted mostly landscapes. It was only comparatively late in life that Troyon found his métier as a painter of animals, and achieved international recognition.
