Edition size - 200, plus proofs Year published - 1979 Printer - Atelier Dumas, NYC YOUNG BARMAN is an original, hand drawn limited edition lithograph printed using traditional hand lithography techniques on archival printmaking paper, 100% acid free, by the Israeli/French artist David Azuz. YOUNG BARMAN presents a nostalgic look back to a Paris bar scene featuring a young male bartender dressed in a green blazer, white shirt, and black necktie standing behind a curved wood bar counter preparing drinks in a busy restaurant. David Azuz, Israeli/French (1942 - 2014) who was born in Tel Aviv, Israel, in 1942, had the enviable life of an artist living in one of the most beautiful capitals of Europe, Paris. He lived in Paris since 1958 and continued to return to Tel Aviv each summer. David Azuz developed an artistic style rich in color. His paintings are masterfully drawn and full of curiosity for the simple details of life. Azuz's subject matter included bistros and markets, whether they be in Rome, Paris, Tel Aviv or elsewhere, often expressing the solitude of the individual. His artworks became symbolic of the universal citizen and are expressive in their pathos and search for themselves.
