About the Item
David Driesbach studied at the University of Illinois in 1940 and 41. In 1942 he enlisted in the Marines and served until 1945. His artistic education was on going -- he worked at Atelier 17 both in New York and in Paris. He taught at many schools and was a highly respected educator.
When I got to Associated American Artists this print was a recent publication (edition of 250) and everyone was so pleased. It is in the AAA listing: Windisch & Cole 2226. It is signed, titled, dated, and numbered, in pencil.
The irony (here disguised as whimsy) that Driesbach brought to this 'parade' is unusual in AAA publications although not in his other works.
