Barbara Carrasco, Robert Delgado, Richard Duardo, Diane Gamboa, Eduardo Orepeza
Many of the now-prominent Chicano/Latino artists produced their early work at Self-Help Graphics; such artists include Carlos Almaraz, Diane Gamboa, Michael Amescua, Barbara Carrasco, Richard Duardo, and Leo Limon, to name a few. Mono prints and silkscreens were the most common techniques and reflects the evolution of the Chicano art movement. A diversity of themes, including social, political, and cultural issues are represented in these intense and personal artistic statements.
Diane Gamboa (b. 1957) has been producing, exhibiting and curating visual art in Los Angeles since the 1980s. Besides her work as an artist, she has also been involved art education, ranging from after-school programs to college and university teaching. Gamboa has been "one of the most active cultural producers in the Chicana art movement in Los Angeles."
In 1984 Gamboa received her degree from Otis College of Art and Design. She is a recipient of a California Community Foundation Individual Artist Grant, and her solo exhibitions include “Bruja–Ha” at Tropico de Nopal Gallery and “Chica Chic” at Patricia Correia Gallery in Santa Monica. Her work is included in Cheech Marin's personal collection of Chicano art and has been shown at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art[6] and the Riverside Art Museum.

Self-portrait of Los Angeles Chicano artist Wayne Healy, at work on the press at Self Help Graphics.
Wayne Healy (born 1946) grew up in East Los Angeles, where political events in the 1960s stimulated his commitment to execute socially and culturally relevant public art. In the third grade, he collaborated on a dinosaur mural with David Botello. In 1975, the two ran into each other after many years, and Healy and Botello co-founded what became the mural team known as East Los Streetscapers.
In 1992 Healy and artist Roberto Delgado were awarded a grant by the Joint Spanish/U.S. Committee for Educational and Cultural Cooperation to paint murals in Barcelona, Spain. They have created murals and public art works throughout the United States, Europe and Mexico with traveling exhibitions including "Le Demon des Anges", "2001: Hispanic Artists...
