Lion is a color etching, realized by the Italian contemporary master, Gaetano Pompa.
Hand-signed and numbered in pencil on the lower left margin. This specimen is from a limited edition, 56/75.
In excellent conditions. This artwork represents the Lion of Venezia.
Gaetano Pompa (1933 - 1998)
The Italian artist Gaetano Pompa begins his artistic career after the war conflict, in Rome, where he moves with his family to start his studies
and to paint and engrave. From 1958 to 1961 he lived in Munich, in the Schwabing district, carrying out intense artistic activity and participating with great passion in the musical life of the Bavarian city. Back in Italy he married Dorothea Leendertz, known in Germany, with whom he had five children. Since then Gaetano Pompe has lived and operated in Rome and since 1970 between Ansedonia and Orbetello.
