Presenting an original lithograph from the famous maitres de l'affiche series by Belgian artist Henri Privat-Livemont.
Cercle Artistique de Schaerbeek, is an original lithograph, signed and dated 1897 in the plate, offered beautifully framed in excellent original condition.

Georges Henri Privat-Livemont
Peintre, dessinateur, lithographe et décorateur belge, Henri Privat-Livemont étudie les arts décoratifs à l’académie de Saint-Josse avant de venir à Paris, où il passe 6 ans de 1883 à 1889. De retour en Belgique, il décore de nombreux édifices à Bruxelles. En 1891, il devient professeur à l'école industrielle de Schaerbeek, sa ville natale. Figure majeure de l’art nouveau belge, Privat-Livemont est surnommé le « Muche belge » et spécialement apprécié pour ses talents dans l’affiche illustrée et l’estampe.

From a 1947 gouache and chalk original (53.3 x 48.2 cm), the motif also worked into 'Boy and Birdcage', 1947-48, an oil painting. Scott was teaching at Corsham Court with Clifford and Rosemary Ellis, who had been chosen. The birdcage was originally explored in his 1946 painting 'Robert with Birdcage'.
