Sellars lived and worked in the county and the landscape captured his imagination and features heavily.
He taught at Herefordshire College of Art before going on to be appointed head of fine art printmaking at Southampton College of Art.
The Test Valley with its chalk downlands, streams and river were a rich source of inspiration for his later work and a natural progression from his earlier landscapes.
Retiring and returning to this county in 1994, failing health saw him exchanging drawing in the outdoors for work in his studio, where he translated the drawings into collages and prints.
Closely associated with The Kitchen Sink Painters of the 1950s it was, however, the English landscape with its diversity and romanticism that held an enduring appeal for Sellars.
