Lithograph, signed and numbered 23/50. in pencil. Printed by George Miller image 14 x 10" Likely a full sheet 15 3/4 x 11 3/8", even margins with deckle edges on 3 sides. Slight remnants of a mat ring in margins well outside image. Likewise some remnants of discoloration on the verso.
Clemente Orozco, the artist's son comments in his catalog raisonne: "The essential features of a Mexican woman, showing the serene femininity of her character" His father said: "Many of my paintings... are a real glorification of the indigenous race, a noble reference to their virtues, their suffering their heroism.... and I have never flattered nor falsified their true nature" From: Jose Clemente Orozco "Mexican Folkways", Mexico City, January-February 1919, pages 8-9.
There is a related drawing that served as a study for the fresco mural "Return to Labor" on the second floor of the National Preparatory School, Mexico City.

Large sheet. top sheet edge with deckle edge and with some remnants of old old tape. Some slight mat burn verso., just a hint on the recto.
This impression is also dedicated to Rosita Boyce by Clemente Orozco - (the Artist's Son) in 1961
