Power Serve is a very exciting image showing the continuous movement of a tennis player’s serve from the top to the bottom with bold colors of reds, yellows, greens and blues. A rare serigraph edition Printers Proof, signed in pencil by the artist. In good condition with slight wear on edges. Paper size 39.50 x 30.75 image 33 x 24.75 Knoelder Publishing. American artist LeRoy Neiman ( 1921- 2012 ) is known for his brilliantly colored and energetic images of sporting events and is one of the most popular contemporary American sports artists. Neiman worked in oil, enamel, watercolor, pencil drawings, pastels, serigraphs and some lithographs and etching. He was listed in Art Collector’s Almanac, Who’s Who in the East, Who’s Who in American Art, Who’s Who in America, and Who’s Who in the World and he was a member of the Chicago Society of Artists. His works have been displayed in museums, sold at auctions, and displayed in galleries all over the world as well as in private and corporate collections. His work is in the permanent collection of the Smithsonian, the Brooklyn Museum, the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, the Whitney Museum, Wadham College at Oxford, the State Hermitage Museum in Russia. He was the official artist for ABC-TV at the Olympic Games in 1972 , 1976, 1980 and often painted or sketched on live television. With the camera recording his painting progress Neiman interpreted the drama of the Olympic Games and the Super Bowls for an audience of millions.
