"Sale Julia" Abstract Figurative Monotype by California artist Linda O'Hagan.
This dynamic print by Linda O'Hagan captures the movement of a dancer mid-turn. The background is composed of a simple yellow rectangle placed on top of a light blue ground. This unspecific geometry is then eclipsed by the body and clothing of the dancer. The dancers limbs are simplified oblong shapes which contrast with the detailed folds of her garment and headpiece. This fabric is rendered in a mix of yellows, teals, and pinks.

Linda O’Hagan (b. circa 1955) is a contemporary artist working in the Monterey Bay area in California. O’Hagan has a long history of involvement in the local art scene, from creating an art piece for the Santa Cruz County building in 1977 to participating in Aptos, California’s Two Hat Studio’s “Print Day in May” in 2017. In 2004, she was spotlighted by the Santa Cruz Sentinel for her work focusing on her experience with epilepsy, alongside Christi Voenell, to assist the recovery of those suffering from head trauma with art. She has also taught classes at the Santa Cruz Art Center alongside professors from the University of California Santa Cruz.
