This linoleum block print on paper is by San Francisco North Beach artist Martin Snipper (1914-2008). Snipper studied at the National Academy of Art In New York and exhibited at the San Francisco Art Museum's (later to become SFMOMA) annual exhibitions. He was Director of the San Francisco Art Festival and Arts Commission. This piece is a posthumous print (2009-2014) made from a linoleum block carved by the artist circa 1950. The print was done by the artist's estate after his passing. Estate stamped lower right. Framed in a restored vintage wood frame with a parchment paint finish using archival matting and conservation glass.
