The artwork represents an island through vivid colors, with a poetical ludic harmony which is Maurilio Catalano's style of expression, joyfully created a dreamlike vivid vision on Venice.
Maurilio Catalano born in 1942 in Palermo. Since 1963 he directs the Gallery and printing house "Arte al Borgo". The has received the Ignazio Buttitta award 2009. As a Sicilian artist, you can feel the presence of the sea and ocean in his works. His ludic approach gives a dreamy sensation to his artworks which the spectator feels and can dream it as a personal experience especially for the empty spaces that he leaves intentionally in his paintings.
