Surprise your loved one with this memorable artwork. **Please note that the print on canvas will look like as the PRIMARY picture and the ones on the rooms walls** >>> All others are of the original piece with the glossiness of the resin. Although the print is so high quality and high definition that it looks like 3D. Each print is signed and numbered by the artist and a Certificate of Authenticity is given with it,. Brazilian artist Mauro Oliveira creates artworks using special automotive detailing tape, acrylic paint, pencils and other creative media, finishing his artworks with several layers of resin for an immaculate and super glossy finish. The exceptionally shiny varnish gives Mauro’s pieces a delightful reflection and a finished look. Many of his geometric pieces are named after specific places and skylines that inspired the artwork. Each artwork is precisely planned out and there is little room for error with his technique, which makes each piece equally stunning. Mauro believes the artist should express their emotions and feelings through art. Each piece should have a beginning, middle and an end, with an individual outlook and interpretation for each observer. “What I might be really trying to do with my art, is to represent the complexity of the inner self in a simple clean way using vivid colors. My only hope is that every piece touches the viewer somehow.” Mauro Oliveira was born in Sao Paulo, Brazil and raised on the outskirts under extreme poverty, with no running water or electricity. He and his six siblings were sent to a military state-run orphanage after both parents passed away in their 30’s. He feels that he is living proof that people’s generosity can save lives and make dreams come true. His passion for the United States and art started at age 9 in the orphanage. An American woman, a good Samaritan, visited the orphanage looking to adopt an orphan and Mauro became close with her. However, she ended up adopting his best friend, as she did not want to separate him from his brothers and sisters. Before she left, she told him crying in broken Portuguese that if he stayed out of trouble and studied hard, he too would make it to the U.S. one day. His first art project, age 10, was to paint and decorate the plain tin piggy-banks, that were given out free by the banks and then selling them. He encouraged and supervised the other children to do the same and raised funds for food. He did stay out of trouble, studied hard and surmounted every obstacle in his way, dreaming of making it to America one day. He made it to college with straight A’s and won a student exchange program contest sponsored by the Federal University of Uberlandia, Brazil. He studied Journalism and the Arts and immigrated to the U.S. in 1990. Mauro has worked in several different art media from oil pastels and charcoal sketches to clay sculptures. His greatest influences are Spanish artists Pablo Picasso and Joan Miro. Oliveira's artworks have been exhibited throughout the US as well as internationally, most recently in Hong Kong, Los Angeles and New York.

"Poemes CXXXVIII" Contemporary Abstract Embroidered Mixed Media on Canvas
By Raul de la Torre
Located in Baltimore, MD
"Poemes CXXXVIII" is a framed mixed media work on canvas by Raul de la Torre, with layers of contrasting abstract shapes and colors. De la Torre's signature technique of painstakingly embroidering meticulously-matched asymmetric forms over smooth layers of paint adds texture and delight to each of his pieces. This piece is finished in a silver floater frame with subtle beveling and a dark brown (nearly black) woodgrain effect along the frame’s interior and sides. Pricing includes the pictured frame. Unframed dimensions are 30 x 60 inches. Spanish artist Raul De La Torre creates vibrant abstract mixed media artworks that focus primarily on the color and the material. "Many painters create texture upon their canvases by building layer upon layer of paint; with each layer comes a greater sense of history and dimension within the work. Others using thickening agents to almost sculpt their paint, spreading it thickly upon their work’s surface for a subtle 3D effect. I have chosen a unique route to enrich my acrylic paintings with texture: embroidery. I first choose the colors I want to incorporate in the palette of the work I’m about to embark upon. To me, the colors represent people, moments or feelings. I paint with acrylic in various blocks of color interacting with one another, evolving a pattern upon the canvas. Sometimes I contain the paint within a clean border, other times I let the blocks of color drip down the canvas or paper. Next, I begin the process of embroidery. I make horizontal cuts on the canvas or paper and covers these open areas using cotton thread. This process of embroidering on canvas or paper adds both intrigue and a sense of depth to each unique work. My most recent body of works reflects a series of poems by a well known poet from Catalonia, my home country. An homage to both the poet and the creative process, my technique of embroidery is heartfelt exploration. Just as a poet builds words to form metaphor or meaning, I build texture through embroidery to form depth and character." POEMES Series The starting point and inspiration of Poèmes is a series of verses from the Catalan poet Miquel Marti i Pol - poems that reflect loss but not always sadness. The color is used as a code to represent times, places, and people left behind. Some of them are embroidered forever in our memory, turning to form part of our DNA. To represent the firmness and strength of that past, the cotton is mixed with the paint in the works to form a unity. "For the series POEMES, I have been using different poets as inspiration. The initial inspiration for the first works were poems by one of my favorite poets, Miquel Marti i Pol. Other favorites are Benjamin Fondane, Seamus Heaney...
