ALLIER, Paul. Les Quatre Saisons. Estampes par Paul Alier. Folio. 11 x 14" Four lovely pochoir designs of the Four Seasons [Automme, L'Hiver, Les Printemps, L'Ete] 1925. Copy No. 873 of 1,000 signed in pencil by Paul Allier.
In the world of Haute Couture Allier was a prolific contributing artist for L’Assiette au Beurre, Femina, Flirt, Le Jardin des Modes and Vogue. He was also involved in theatre productions and book illustrations.
His primary importance in art history was his pioneering concept of small and select limited editions, each image numbered and hand-signed. This was done in collaboration with Galerie Lutetia, Paris, where he produced his sought-after pochoir special editions.
