The Bouffes Parisiens is a well-known theater in Paris that has been a significant part of French cultural life since the 19th century.
The Théâtre des Bouffes-Parisiens is a Parisian theater founded in 1855 by composer Jacques Offenbach for the performance of opéra bouffe and operetta. In the 19th century, the theater was often called the Salle Choiseul. After 1870, as operetta declined in popularity, the theater broadened its repertoire to include comedies. The theater remains active, regularly producing stage plays.
Paul Colin was one of the most influential graphic artists of the early to mid-20th century. His work often embodies the bold, elegant aesthetic of Art Deco. Renowned for blending typography, vibrant colors, and dynamic compositions, Colin created posters for a variety of industries, including theater, music, and film. One of his most iconic pieces is the vintage poster for the Bouffes Parisiens. He is also well known for his famous vintage posters featuring Josephine Baker.
This is an original vintage lithograph poster; it is not a reproduction.

Paul Colin
Paul Colin (French , 1892-1985) was a French artist widely recognized for his imaginatively configured art deco posters depicting many well known theatre performers in Paris in the 1920's and 1930's, such as Josephine Baker and modernist figures and nudes. He also specialized in theatre sets, book designs, and costume design. Influenced by Cubism and jazz, he often employed a collage-like methodology to his work, juxtaposing highly stylized figural compositions against geometrically overlapping objects. He was a student of Valin and Prouvre. He created performance posters that were highly stylized, for studio, arts and dance. He was awarded an inspiring graphic artist and had his own unique style as he embraced symbolism and an abstract style.
