Philippe Noyer
The Crocodile, Philippe Noyer

Circa 1975

About the Item

PHILIPPE NOYER (1917-1985) Philippe Noyer's art has always remained quite unique. The elements he uses in his paintings - the women, the monuments, the animals and the flowers - come alive under the brush which translates them in strictly realist terms in compositions that are the fruits of his fantasy. Like in the paintings of any artist, there are pet themes and objects, however, they seem to recur as if they are good luck charms. Careful use of pure colors brought Philippe Noyer to the technique which gives his paintings their very special transparency and light, and give his subjects a realness one can feel without touching. Noyer's honesty with himself, his inborn draftsmanship and eye for color have earned him a world-wide reputation. Original Limited Edition Lithograph on Arches paper. Edition Size: 220, plus proofs. Paper Size: 29.75" x 22." Excellent Condition; never framed or matted. Signed & numbered in pencil.
