A late-18th or early-19th century strike of an engraving by Robert Dodd (1748-1815) after William Hogarth's (1697-1764) painting of a children's performance of John Dryden's play 'The Indian Emperor' (1665). First published in 1792. Likely a lifetime print. Inscribed with the title to the lower edge. Identical impressions are in the collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Tate. Presented in a cream mount and an oak frame. On wove.
