About the Item
Jeffrey Dunstan (1759?–1797) was a second-hand wig seller in the West End of London who was the elected "mayor" of Garrat from 1785 to 1796, becoming a notable figure of his time. As an adult he had knock knees, a large head, and grew to a height of only 4 feet" Lithograph after a stipple engraving by Robert Cooper from Henry Wilson and James Caulfield’s Book of Wonderful Characters, Memoirs and Anecdotes, of Remarkable and Eccentric Persons in all ages and countries, John Camden Hotten, Piccadilly, London, 1869.
