It featured ponton styling, similar in style to the British Ford Zephyr. This poster features the later model from 1959. Archival linen backed in Excellent condition (A), ready to frame. The image is of a Second generation 12M (1959–1962) The second generation 12M was not a new car but a reworking of the 1952 model. All cars were called 12M, though both engines were continued. The car with the bigger engine was called the Taunus 12M 1.5-litre. The Ford Taunus 12M was a series of compact cars produced by Ford of Germany between 1952 and 1962. The Taunus 12M was part of the Taunus range, which was named after the mountain range in Germany. It was one of the most successful models produced by Ford of Germany during that era. The Taunus 12M was available in various body styles, including sedans, coupes, convertibles, and wagons. It featured a unibody construction and had a distinctive design influenced by the American styling trends of the time. The front end of the car had a prominent grille and chrome accents, while the rear had rounded tailfins. The Taunus 12M came with different engine options throughout its production years. Initially, it was powered by a 1.2-liter inline-four engine, but later versions offered larger engine sizes up to 1.5 liters. The power output ranged from around 38 to 55 horsepower, depending on the engine variant. Over the years, the Taunus 12M received several updates and facelifts, including changes to the exterior design, interior features, and mechanical components. The later models featured more modern styling elements and improved performance. The Ford Taunus 12M was a popular choice among families and individuals looking for an affordable and compact car during the 1950s and 1960s. Its success contributed to the growth of Ford of Germany and its position in the European automotive market. This is an Original Lithograph Vintage Poster; it is not a reproduction. This artwork titled "Liberated Village" c. 1940, is an original lithograph on paper by noted American artist William Gropper, 1897-1977. It is hans signed and titled in pencil by the artist. The artwork (image) size is 12 x 16.5 inches, framed size is 20.25 x 24.25 inches. Custom framed in a black metal frame, with off white matting. It is in excellent condition. An example of this particular artwork is held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York. About the artist: William Gropper was born in New York City's Lower East Side in 1897. He was the first of six children to parents who earned small wages working in sweatshops. At the age of fourteen, Gropper left school to help support his family. While carrying bolts of cloth for his deliveries, Gropper began to draw on scraps of paper, sidewalks, and walls. A passerby saw some of these drawings and invited Gropper to attend a life-drawing class at the Ferrer School. He studied there for three years from 1912 to 1915, attending classes taught by Robert Henri and George Bellows. From 1915 to 1918 Gropper attended the New York School of Fine and Applied Art part-time on scholarship. Gropper also won a scholarship to the National Academy of Design, but remained as a student for only a short time; the rigid and systematic institution conflicted with Gropper's belief in the personal nature of art. At the New York School of Fine and Applied Art, Gropper earned several prizes. One of these prizes was for his cartoons, which led him to be hired by the New York Tribune in 1917 to sketch for their features. A few years later through freelance work, his cartoons and drawings appeared in other newspapers and magazines, such as The Liberator, The New Masses...
