Thomas Laugher, commonly called Old Tommy, 1700-1812. Teetotaller, former liquor merchant of Tower Street, London, famous for his great longevity. Standing with a cane and hat at a desk with his birth certificate, portraits on the wall of his father who lived to 97 and mother who lived to 108. From a portrait of him at age 107. Lithograph after a stipple engraving by Robert Cooper from Henry Wilson and James Caulfield’s Book of Wonderful Characters, Memoirs and Anecdotes, of Remarkable and Eccentric Persons in all ages and countries, John Camden Hotten, Piccadilly, London, 1869.
