Image dimensions: 15 x 5 cm.
Woman with raised face is a unique xylograph realized by an anonymous artist active in the first half of the 20th century. The state of preservation is very good. The paper presents some light stains of dirt on the upper, right, and lower margins. On the lower left margin, there is a visible stain corresponding to an ink stain on the back.
The artwork reflects a specific taste for the decorative style of the early 20th century. It presents strong contrasts between the lighter and darker parts, with an Expressionist style, typical of the xylograph technique. The girl is captured in a restricted space with the body turned away and her arms and face raised. She seems to be dancing with her hair gently pushed by her movement.
Overall, a pleasant, harmonious, and interesting artwork.
