About

Hajime Sorayama Future Mickey Be@rbrick: Set of two (400% & 100%): Medium: Vinyl Figurine. Set of two figurines. Larger: 11 x 5 x inches. Condition: New in original packaging. Published by Medicom from a limited series of unknown. Accompanied by the original box. Printed signature verso of figurine & box. Rare. Hajime Sorayama (b. 1947) is a Japanese illustrator known for his precisely detailed, erotic portrayals of feminine robots, along with his design work on the original Sony AIBO. He describes his highly detailed style as "superrealism", which he says "deals with the technical issue of how close one can get to one's object. The Future Mickey Be@rbrick colorways mirror the colors of Sorayama’s original Future Mickey sculptures with this 2nd version featuring a classic silver and red design and 2019’s 1st edition—released at DesignerCon2019 and 2G— featuring a silver and gold design. As with the first version, the new Future Mickey Be@rbricks have a shiny, highly-reflective surface. Bearbrick: Further Background: BE@RBRICKs are a form of collectible toy that resembles a cross between LEGO and well, a bear. These block-style figurines boast teddy bear-style heads that have become an integral pillar of the collectible toy scene. In fact, it wouldn’t be so far-fetched to say that it almost single-handedly carved out the fad of toy collecting in modern times, treading the very fine line between toy and art. Since its inception, BE@RBRICKs have become one of the most recognizable characters in the world, and some of the most sought after. Related Categories Art toys. Takashi Murakami. Kaws.
