Jane Hammond
Jane Hammond, born in 1950 in Bridgeport, Connecticut, is a distinguished American artist renowned for her innovative approach to painting, printmaking, and photography. She earned her B.A. from Mount Holyoke College in 1972 and pursued M.F.A. studies at Arizona State University and the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Hammond's work is characterized by a rich tapestry of imagery, often drawing from diverse sources such as literature, dreams, and popular culture. Her art challenges traditional boundaries, seamlessly blending elements from various disciplines to create thought-provoking pieces.
Throughout her career, Hammond has exhibited extensively, with solo exhibitions at prestigious venues such as the Whitney Museum of American Art and the Cleveland Center for Contemporary Art.
