About the Item
American, born Scotland, 1886 - 1970).
Lithograph, 1945. Edition of 30, signed and numbered 26/30. 11 x 13 7/8 inches (image), 12 3/4 x 13 7/8 inches (sheet). Some adhesive residue at corners, else in excellent condition.
Better known as Edward A. Wilson, he was a prominent book illustrator and commerical artist. This series of lithographs relating to pipelines was likely a commission related to that industry as it got back into domestic production following World War II. Some of these images are in the Reba and Dave WIlliams Collection at the National Gallery of Art.
