TREE ROOTS I is an original hand drawn, limited edition lithograph(not a digital print or photo reproduction) printed using traditional hand lithography techniques on archival Arches paper 100% acid free. Superb impression of a finely detailed surrealist style tree whose finger-like roots entwine among pipelines, presenting a intriguing fantasy landscape. TREE ROOTS I presents smoothly shaded airbrush drawing which define the pale yellow and light purple red pipeline structures; fine pen drawing creates the tiny leaves that form the puffy clustered green foliage. TREE ROOTS I is an imaginative rendition of nature and man interlocking in the natural environment.
TREE ROOTS I is excellent condition, unframed, hand signed in pencil by Hanna Kay.

Hanna Kay is an internationally established artist who was born in Israel, studied art in Vienna, lived a decade in New York, and has been living and exhibiting in Australia since 1990. She has exhibited extensively in the art capitals of Europe, the USA, and Australia and her art is to be found in many public and private collections in Australia and around the world.
Artist Statement -
Having grown up in one environment and then migrated to live in several others before ending up in rural Australia, my artworks are inspired by encounters with the natural world. Much of my work has been exploring our relationship with the landscape and, through it, I have come to recognise nature’s significance to our humanity, and to believe that the landscape is an essential element in the formation of a culture’s distinctiveness.As such the focus of my art is not necessarily on the majestic – rather, I choose to engage with forces that act upon the fragments, and to examine the nature of their changeability. As a result my artworks act as metaphors alluding, through their subject matter, to our everyday experiences. My artworks are based on ideas and concepts which I prefer to explore on two dimensional surfaces. I use a technique which I have developed over many years, based on the old masters painting technique I’d learnt in Vienna. By layering paint and tempera the canvases develop a reality of sorts, with which I hope to entice the viewer to enter into a dialogue with the artwork; to perhaps reach beyond the surface and engage with the new spaces I created.

Anatole Krasnyansky (born in 1930; Kiev, Ukraine) is a Ukrainian-American artist who has gained prominence by pioneering a new watercolor technique. Krasnyansky added paper texture as a component of his watercolors. With this new process, Krasnyansky added texture and depth to the watercolor medium and expanded its expressive possibilities to a level usually associated with oil painting.
Biography
He was born in Kiev, growing up and living during the times when Ukraine was a part of the U.S.S.R. Krasnyansky received master's degrees in fine art and architecture. He found that the freedom of expression that he needed in his artwork could not be found within the strictures of the Soviet Union and moved to the United States in 1975.
In the U.S., Krasnyansky found valuable use for his knowledge of architecture, design and his imagination. and found success in multiple artistic pursuits. Almost surreal, Krasnyansky’s figures are recognizable form while incorporating elements of his Eastern heritage, the cubist ideas of Picasso and Braque, and as well as American culture.
