He was trained as a landscape architect, and worked on such prominent projects as the renovation of the Jardin des Tuilleries in 1991. It wasn't until 1973 that he learned printmaking from Jean Delpech, and by 1979 he had become a full-time artist known for his highly detailed prints...

Excellent condition
This suite of limited edition prints captures Linda Newman Boughton’s Baroque inspired landscape "Yield and Overcome" in vivid detail. Taking four months to create, the original drawing was made entirely using the artist's favorite brand of “Rite in the Rain” waterproof blue-ink pen. Working from a photograph, Boughton employed a variation of pen strokes, combining gestural lines that serve as the drawing’s foundation, with tighter strokes to develop the sections of intricate detail. From a wild and tangled web of lines emerges identifiable forms, such as a complex root system or a bushy canopy of leaves. The work itself feels kinetic; millions of mark makings vibrate with an energy that stems from a sacred connection to nature.
Boughton’s passion for the arts began early, as she acted, made art, and designed theatrical sets throughout her youth. She went on to study fashion illustration at Florida State University before transferring to F.I.T in New York City. Experience in the fashion world and her love for theatre soon landed her jobs in Hollywood, painting sets and murals for feature films such as Nightmare on Elm Street VII, Fight Club, among many others. The artist lives in Ghent, NY with her husband where she continues to make art and write and create show ideas for television.
Artist Bio:
Linda grew up in an artistic and theatrical family in Tampa, Florida. Drawing and painting always felt effortless and fun for her. Acting and designing in theatre also made up much of her early years. Her first choice in higher education was at Florida State University where she was a theatre major and had an art minor. At the University drawing skills were emphasized, and with a love of drawing people, she found herself in a fashion illustration class, loving every minute of it. Within a year of taking that class, she taught a summer fashion illustration course at Florida State University, and soon made her move to New York City where she attended the prestigious Fashion Institute of Technology, graduating Cum Laude, with a degree in fashion illustration.
She worked in the fashion industry for the next several years, illustrating, designing accessories and shooting freelance photography. Her love of acting and design soon propelled her to seek out Hollywood and the creative opportunities of working in the movie industry.
Within in a year Linda was working as a lead scenic artist painting sets and murals for feature films. On a feature called: Wes Craven's New Nightmare- Nightmare on Elm Street VII, there was a need for a Warhol TextBody">EXHIBITIONS

“Yellow Tulips” is part of the famous flower painting series by Alex Katz. The aesthetics of flowers such as flags, tulips, and roses has been continuously explored by the artist throughout his career.
"I generally start with oil sketches, because I can paint more quickly than I can draw. In this way I try to capture the sensation of what I’m doing, getting into the unconscious and creating the images, and then figuring out what I did." — Alex Katz
Katz has been painting flowers since the 1960s, often during his summer residencies in Maine. The cropped, flattened composition displays a debt to Japanese woodblock art printing. The American artist is well-known for his large paintings, whose bold simplicity and unmodulated colours are now seen as precursors of Pop Art.
"Yellow Tulips" is another of Katz's wonderfully bright exploration of nature and the landscape. He represents the volumes and colors created by the natural light, this artwork breathes nature, the radiant yellow delights the vision against the limitless black background.
The painting “Tulips 4” which this edition is based on belongs to the Collection of Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York.
ALEX KATZ
Alex Katz (American, born 1927) is the outstanding protagonist of figurative painting and one of our era's most acclaimed artists. In the late 1950s, the artist began to develop his mature style, characterized by elegance, simplicity, and stylized abstraction, which typifies his entire production. Alex Katz’s paintings...
