At the Edge by Shirley Kirkcaldy [2018]
This is a superior quality limited edition Giclee print inspired by the coastline near Cape Cornwall. Reproduced from an original mixed media painting, it evokes the atmosphere and drama of this place at the edge, where natural elements come together. Edition of 125 prints. Each print is numbered, titled and signed by Shirley to verify that she is happy with the colour and quality of the print. They are printed in the UK on 310 gsm fine art paper, which has a finely textured surface. Prints come unmounted and unframed [for advice on mounting and/or framing please do get in touch]. ‘At the Edge’ has an image size of 45x45cm with a 2.5cm white border on all sides. It is wrapped in acid free tissue and rolled in a rigid tube for safe delivery. A certificate of authenticity is included.

Shirley Kirkcaldy, painter and illustrator.Shirley’s work explores the natural landscape, in particular that of Dartmoor, where she lives, and the southwest coastlines she visits regularly. Her practice involves drawing in the landscape and working intuitively and expressively in a range of media, predominantly oil but often incorporating oil stick, wax, acrylic, ink or charcoal. Combining visual notes, made on location, with memory and materials in her studio, ideas are investigated and possibilities explored until she feels that something beyond the obvious has been achieved. Drawn to the edge of places where light and atmosphere feature significantly, her work aims to depict a sense of place and time where final images become less documentary and thus open to viewer interpretation. Shirley’s work is represented by several southwest galleries and in private collections in the UK, Europe, USA and New Zealand. She is a member of the Southwest Academy of Fine Arts, exhibits widely and has been a featured artist in Devon Life, Dartmoor Magazine and The Artist publications.
