Liudmila Kondakova
Ten Bridges, 2011

2011

About the Item

Ten Bridges is a traditional serigraph on canvas, 30 x 40" and 40 x 50" framed. Signed ‘Kondakova’ lower right and numbered 62/295 in the left corner (there were also 25 APs,and 5 HCs). Framed in an ornate, gold-tone frame. Ten Bridges defines Liudmila Kondakova's aesthetic at its most stunning and evokes her love of this great city in grand format. A spectacular achievement of her unique artistry and vision, this expansive view showcases ten of the city's most famous bridges along with historic landmarks and rooftop vistas, all in the magical glow of sunrise or sunset. “At times, almost any visual tour-de-force seems possible in Kondakova’s inspired repertory of images; they seem to reflect an impossibly wonderful, but still quite concrete and visible, parallel universe. The sense of time, in the modern sense, is less important than atmosphere and emotion, which colors everything she shows in such disarmingly, diligently observed detail. One is persuaded that she is, in fact, rendering quite faithfully something actually before her, yet nothing is quite as it seems to other viewers, or even to the camera’s lens.” – Professor Sam Hunter (Liudmila Kondakova – A World of Enchantment)

'Meme Money 006: Goochi Sponge, ' by XVALA, Mixed Media Painting
By XVALA
Located in Oklahoma City, OK
In this mixed media 24"x24" painting by XVALA, the artist colorfully plays with the 'Gucci' brand in tandem with the childhood cartoon series, 'Spongebob.' A 'Goochi Sponge' takes center stage with a play on the 'Gucci' logo as the canvas background. Predominant colors are green, red, and gold on a white background. XVALA's art illuminates the hidden fallout spawned from our high tech Internet age. His Fear Google campaign exposed the decay of privacy and No Delete used hacked nude celebrity photos to highlight loss of control over personal information. The artist has worked with trash from the homes of Mark Zuckerberg, Steve Jobs, and others, as well as dirt from the graves of George Orwell and Aldous Huxley. The dirt appears in the New World Order collection as part of a pyramidal, 3D printed, living ant farm...

'Rona Bots Money Edition, ' by XVALA, Mixed Media Painting
By XVALA
Located in Oklahoma City, OK
This large scale 113" x 55" mixed media painting by XVALA was created during the pandemic and features floating green robots on a silver canvas with multi-color dollar signs throughout. The COVID-19 pandemic has had a devastating effect on the global economy. The Rona Bots have canceled the economy, but it's not only our money that has been affected. XVALA appropriated this specific dollar symbol from Andy Warhol to remind us that the pandemic has also ripped through the fabric of pop culture in 2020. XVALA's art illuminates the hidden fallout spawned from our high tech Internet age. His Fear Google campaign exposed the decay of privacy and No Delete used hacked nude celebrity photos to highlight loss of control over personal information.
