Original antique Russian anti-Tsarist Civil War propaganda poster - To the Deceived Brothers (In the White Guard Trenches) First Message from Demyan Bedny / Обманутым братьям (В белогвардейских окопах) Первое послание Демьяна Бедного - featuring an illustration by one of the founders and leading masters of the Soviet political revolutionary poster Alexander Apsit (1880-1944) depicting a giant proletarian man in a red tunic shirt swinging a blood-stained club to fight off a snake like multi-headed beast of Czar Nicholas II and his closest confidants, the caricatures representing Tsarist Russia, with clouds in the background, a fallen imperial crown and soldiers and men in battle around the serpent below. The title text is below with a poem about the continuation of the revolution in Russia written by the Russian poet Demyan Bedny (1883-1945). Printed by the Publishing House of the All-Russian Central Executive Committee of Councils of Workers, Peasants, Red Army and Cossack Deputies. Good condition, restored tears, several restored paper losses, browning, staining, backed on linen.
