Original antique railway poster for Konarak See India Bengal Nagpur Railway featuring stunning artwork of The Black Pagoda with ruins in the foreground and palm trees on the side set against a yellow background, the bold lettering in red on the black border above and below. Located on the coast by the Bay of Bengal near Puri in Odisha India, Konark is home to the historic 13th century Sun Temple / The Black Pagoda dedicated to the Hindu God Surya; carved from black granite stone, the temple is a major pilgrimage site and was declared a UNESCO world heritage site in 1984. Founded in 1887, the Bengal Nagpur Railway served the eastern and central India train routes until 1952 when it merged with the East Indian Railway Company to form the Eastern Railway. Very good condition, minor creasing, backed on linen, linen trimmed to margins of the poster.
