About the Item
Original vintage mid-century modern advertising poster for the Amsterdam Fashion Week 14-21 May 1949 featuring a colourful illustration of an open pair of sewing scissors balancing behind a spool of white thread with a logo of the fashion week on a card and purple tulip flowers on a white lined pale green background with the pale blue sky and white clouds above, the text and dates in stylised lettering below. Held biannually from 1947 the Amsterdam Fashion Week was organised by the Dutch Women's Clothing Industry until the 1950s; the event was re-started in 2004. Very good condition, folds and creasing.
