About the Item

This lithograph was printed in 1960 and is based on the glassworks of the Saint Dominique church in Varengeville, in Normandy, where Braque had his country house. The original gouache on which the glassworks is itself based on, was sold in the auction Tableaux et Sculptures XIXe, Modernes et Contemporains by Rossini, Paris on 27 March 2018. This beautiful religious image representing Saint Dominique, for who the church is named after, was reproduced by Mourlot Master Printer Henri Deschamps, under the supervision of the Georges Braque and the edition was published by Fernand Mourlot. Ref. Orozco # LA.S. 791. Ed. 175 signed and numbered proofs. A few unsigned printer's proofs. This proof is unsigned.
