Stamp-dated, numbered and hand-assembled
The Wombat box No. 37 is a special Edition made with JR for the occasion of his new exhibition MOMENTUM at La Maison Européenne de la Photographie in Paris.
This original box contains:
Jeté, Cambré, 2014, one photographic print (size 24x30cm) in good condition
One portfolio composed of several images including one 190cm-long fresco folded into 7 parts.
The print has been made by Processus on Hahnemühle fine art paper.
Each Wombat box is stamp-dated, numbered and hand-assembled.
Limited edition of 1000 copies.
JR (French; born 22 February 1983) is the pseudonym of a French photographer and artist whose identity is unconfirmed. Describing himself as a photograffeur, he flyposts large black-and-white photographic images in public locations, in a manner similar to the appropriation of the built environment by the graffiti artist. He states that the street is "the largest art gallery in the world". He started out on the streets of Paris. JR's work "often challenges widely held preconceptions and the reductive images propagated by advertising and the media.
JR's work combines art and action, and deals with commitment, freedom, identity and limits. He has been introduced by Fabrice Bousteau as: "the one we already call the Cartier-Bresson of the 21st century". On 20 October 2010, JR won the TED Prize for 2011. He used the $100,000 award money to start the Inside Out Project.

JR artist
JR is a photographer and artist whose identity is unconfirmed. After he found a camera in the Paris subway, he did a tour of European Street Art, tracking the people who communicate messages via the walls. Then, he started to work on the vertical limits, watching the people and the passage of life from the forbidden undergrounds and roofs of Paris. He has described himself as a "photograffeur", as he flyposts large black-and-white photographic images in public locations in a manner that is similar to the appropriation of the built environment by the graffiti artist. "The beauty of an art project is that you cannot always measure the impact, but one day it can become clear." —JR The artist exhibits freely in the streets of the world, catching the attention of people who are not typical museum visitors. JR's work combines art and performance and its subject varies from commitment, freedom, identity and limitations. JR has exhibited his work at Centre Pompidou, Tate Modern, Watari-Um in Tokyo, Frieder Burda Museum in Baden-Baden, and Power Station of Art in Shanghai.
