This lithographic poster is based on the lithograph L'atelier de Cannes, which was used as a frontispiece for the book Dans l'atelier de Picasso published in 1957. Picasso frequently painted the women he was in love with. He was a famously charismatic personality; Picasso's disregard for what others thought of his work made him a formidable seductor. In this instance, the image was used to promote an exhibition displaying a collection of Picasso imprints by Mourlot Paris.
