Original vintage train travel poster - Visit Rochester - featuring artwork by the notable commercial artist and poster designer Reginald Montague Lander (1913-1980) depicting the historic Rochester Cathedral in white with the surrounding trees, buildings, River Medway and hills in the distance set over a dark pink background, the title above with the rest of the text and British Rail logo below - Awayday fare from this station - along with a description of the Cathedral's history dating back to AD 1080, including being damaged during the Civil War and various periods of reconstruction, its Norman Nave, 13th-14th century tombs and 13th century painting of the Wheel of Fortune as well as its location close to Rochester Station and other places of interest in this Kent town from Rochester Castle and Guildhall to the Eastgate House Museum dedicated to the life and work of Charles Dickens. Screen Printed by Planet Displays. Published by British Rail Southern Region. Very good condition, creasing, small tears, number printed on reverse.
