Robert Kushner
"Rondo"

2024

About the Item

The artist describes this work as follows: “In Rondo I hope to evoke spring and summer in Italy. A simple glass of wild poppies, gathered in a morning walk. A fresh lemon yellow lemon and its very green leaves from a tree on the terrace. A simply painted sugar bowl. A beautiful polychrome platter and a ripply striped curtain with their own rich coloration. Each element has a series of wiggly curves that echo off of each other. The title Rondo refers to a musical form with a principal theme (in this case all of those repeated curving lines) which alternates with one or more contrasting themes (various color combinations on a light drenched tabletop).” Edition 7/25, signed by artist
