Original antique advertising poster for The Ideal Summer Drink Ovaltine Cold Delicious Refreshing Sustaining featuring a great illustration of a smiling young lady sipping a straw from a tall glass of Ovaltine drink against a sunshine background with smaller images above and below depicting friends taking a break from a badminton sport game under the shade of the tree with a dog lying on the grass by the table, a family enjoying a picnic with the two men toasting each other, and people on a sandy beach by white cliffs sitting on deck chairs under a sun umbrella with their drinks as people swim in the sea in the distance, the stylised title text above and rest of the text in bold lettering on the margin below. Founded in Switzerland in 1904 Ovomaltine is a chocolate cocoa malt milk drink exported to the UK as Ovaltine in 1909 and based at a factory in Kings Langley Hertfordshire (the company's Art Deco building closed when production ended in 2002); the dried powder can be mixed with hot or cold milk to make the drink. Printed in England for A. Wander Ltd. King's Langley. Large size. Good condition, folds, tears, creasing, pinholes, staining.
