Rags Every bit of rag still urgently required WW2 British Home Front Poster 75x49cm Lithograph in four colours c. 1940 Rags had endless uses in the war machine; they were turned into cartridge wadding, they were used for cleaning machinery, they could be made into rag rugs, or the cloth could be recycled into utility clothing or uniforms. Not a scrap went to waste whether clean or dirty.
