Alain Bonnefoit was born in Paris in 1937 and divides his work as a painter between 'his' Paris and 'his' Tuscany, an adopted land. It is here that he painted his landscapes, while in the East he learned to love the incredible local techniques, in particular, the Japanese 'Sumie', becoming his absolute master in the West. He loves art, etching, aquatint, and lithography. His work reaches infinite beauty with the 'Nudes': caste and sweet nudity of a woman made in lithograph, engraving, oil or watercolor. Bonnefoit has become a sought after and important artist. He has exhibited his works in numerous countries such as Switzerland, France, Germany, Italy, Belgium, Luxembourg, the United States, and Japan. With his engravings and lithographs, he also illustrated some books by well-known authors and important publishers.

Alain Bonnefoit
Alain Bonnefoit was born in Montmartre in Paris in 1937. He was a student at the École Nationale supérieure des arts appliqués et des métiers d'art and École Nationale supérieure des beaux-arts. He then followed the Engraving and sculpture section of the École Supérieure des Arts de la Ville de Bruxelles. In 1962, he studied with Volti and discovered the feminine nude. His work is a celebration of the woman with both an influence of the Italian Renaissance and the Japanese painting. Herve Bazin qualified Alain Bonnefoit as the Painter of the Venus. He has exposure in France, Italy, Belgium, Switzerland, Germany, Korea, Japan and more.
