Severo "Sepo" Pozzati
1927 Original poster by SEPO to present the daily newspaper La Rumeur

1927

About the Item

Original poster printed in lithography to present the daily newspaper "La Rumeur". Created by Sepo for "La Rumeur", we can see a very bright and funny image of a hand holding a writing pen in front of a clock displaying Roman numerals. The director of La Rumeur was Georges Anquetil. Lawyer, ebullient publicist, director of the French Courier from 1914, publisher of scandalous books, Georges Anquetil was a curious character, but in spite of everything a revolutionary of bourgeois morals. Severo Pozzati, also known under the pseudonym of Sepo (1895 - 1983), was an Italian advertising artist, painter and sculptor. Active both in France and Italy, he is one of the most important poster artists of the first half of the twentieth century.
