Aaron Fink"Red Pepper", Still-Life Aquatint Etching Lithograph, Signed & Numbered1993
1993
About the Item
"Red Pepper" is a work that displays Aaron Fink's experiments in still-life expressionism with its more than life-like depiction of a bell pepper in vibrant color. This print made with aquatint etching marries the expressionist style with the classic realistic depiction of food that we often take for granted. The print is 36.63 x 29.63 inches and is signed and numbered from an edition of 30 by the artist. Numbered edition may not necessarily be number 11 as there are multiple prints in the possession of Collected Detroit. This is a separate lithograph from "Yellow Pepper" which can be purchased separately but is including in the photographs for contrast as a set.
Aaron Fink, the son of Boston Expressionist artist Barbara Swan or Barbara Swan Fink, was born in 1955 in Boston, Massachusetts. His work follows in his family's footsteps of Boston Expressionism and its related Boston Figurative Expressionism. His work utilizes oil, prints, sculpture, and works on paper and often depict still-life and everyday objects that are empowered with a hyperreal effect from the usage of strong color and contrast. He received his BFA from the Maryland Institute College of Art in 1977 and his MFA from Yale University in 1979.
He has been exhibited and publicly collected at the Art Institute of Chicago, the Brooklyn Museum of Art, the DeCordova, the Farnsworth Museum, the Fogg Museum of Art, the Library of Congress, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Museum of Modern Art, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and the National Gallery of Art.

Joyce T. Nagel Monoprint "Spring/Daffodils" Signed Dated
Located in Detroit, MI
"Spring/Daffodils" captures the essence of the colors of spring and its meaning by choosing Daffodils, the first large common flower of the season that is so welcomed after a long hard mid-west winter. Flowers, also, are an iconic choice of subject matter for many artists from the Dutch Masters and their large vases of flowers to Alex Katz and his mammoth portraits of "flowers." Some of Manet's last paintings that were exquisitely rendered were of the common flowers lilacs and roses. Joyce Nagel...
