About the Item

Large botanical print of sunflowers by Trevor Southey. Beautiful blues and yellow predominate in this large print, which also includes some verse written in the plate by the artist. Signed, titled and numbered from the edition of 150. Trevor Southey was born in Rhodesia, Africa (now Zimbabwe) in 1940. His African heritage can be traced to European colonists who settled in Cape Town, South Africa in the 17th century. In 1965 he immigrated to the United States, retaining an abiding sense of his African and British origins. Southey's formal training includes two years at the Brighton College of Art in Sussex, England. He taught art at Brigham Young University through 1977. In 2010 The Utah Museum of Fine Arts presented the first full retrospective exhibit following Southey's entire career. PERMANENT INSTITUTIONAL COLLECTIONS: Price Waterhouse, LLP George S.
